I stand before you this morning not as a man on trial or a man waiting to be judged, but as one of you. That's right, I'm just as bored and tired as all of you. No, really. I got 4 hours of sleep last night too. As a result I'm way too out of it to try and tell you why I'm better than the other candidates or why you should vote for me. But what I can do is subtely take any pressure off of me and put it onto your shoulders by saying things like, it's time for you to make a choice, for you to chose who will reperesent you in the year to come, who will lead you in the year to come, who will heckle hundreds of people until we get the nacho bar back! Oh yes that's right. You have the responsibility. You have the duty to do. You are being called upon to elect your representative, your figure-head, your ASB president.

My job is just to stand here and try and coerce you into thinking that I'm the right choice. Which I may very well be. But regardless, I know that a good portion of you don't even care who is the ASB president, and honestly until about a week ago neither did I. But I'm starting to realize that it may actually be an important position, even though I'm still not 100% sure what ASB president does, I'd still like to give it a shot. And I can't do that without all of you.

So this is a call to action. Today when they stick that little bubble-sheet in front of your face and ask you to vote, take the time to think about it before you fill in those little bubbles. That's not so much to ask is it? Take the time to think about who you want representing you. Don't just vote for your best friend or the guy with the coolest pants. Vote for someone you honestly think would do a good job. Someone who would put in long weekends making posters for upcoming events. Someone who has absolutely no social life, and therefore has all the time necessary to carry out the important duties of the ASB president.

Student governement is your only true link to the school authorities. Student governement is your vehicle for change. The people in student governement aren't there to sit and argue amongst themselves, they are there to do what you want. That's right, you're electing your very own quasi-slave.

So when you fill in that sheet think about who will stand up for what you want. Who is not afraid to confront the authorities with your concerns. Who will usher this school into a new era of prosperity. Know this comrades, I'm here to serve you. I'm here to give you what you want.

Y2D is not a problem, it is the solution.

                Vote wisely.
